To strengthen our Legal department, we are looking for a pragmatic and dedicated professional, who wants to fulfil the position of the Operational Risk Manager.

Profiel

How you will make a difference

You will help us to ‘finance change to change finance’, by being a dedicated ORM partner to the business for your area of expertise.

As a part of your role:

  • You will function as a soundboard and sparring partner for the organisation and challenge the first line with risk self-assessments and risk identification, including second line opinions, for both regular processes as change initiatives
  • You will maintain and develop the risk management framework and guide the organisation in defining its risk appetite
  • You will maintain and further develop risk management policies of Triodos IM
  • You will monitor, evaluate, and challenge the organization in managing its risks and ensure that adequate action is taken in follow up on reported risk events
  • You will monitor and review the testing of our controls and the timely completion of improvement activities
  • You will prepare appropriate risk reporting for internal and external use
  • You will collaborate with the Risk Management professionals within Triodos Group
  • You will foster a collaborative and high-performance risk culture
  • You will develop actionable solutions to mitigate operational risks and increase the maturity level of risk management within the organisation

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • have the ability to combine a risk attitude with business understanding as to influence the organization in a positive, constructive manner both formally as well as informally
  • have a critical and proactive attitude, yet able to adjust your working style and methods when needed
  • have excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of clarifying complex risk methods and techniques to stakeholders at different levels

Furthermore, it is expected that you will have:

  • extensive and relevant working experience in the field of operational risk management or other second line function, preferably in asset management
  • obtained knowledge and risk management experience in financial institutions, such as an institutional asset manager, a bank, insurance company or with (alternative) investment funds
  • educational background in business administration, financial economics, econometrics, accountancy or law
  • post graduate certificates in risk management (as a plus)
  • fluency in English both orally as well as in writing (Dutch is a plus)

You will be joining the Risk & Compliance team at Triodos Investment Management. The team is positioned in the second line and consists of co-workers in the domain of Operational Risk Management, Financial Risk Management and Compliance.
